Guillermo Lopez, November Guest Artist



The artistic guest for the St. Petersburg Opera Guild  November  General Luncheon Meeting is Guillermo Lopez, accompanied by Sungkyeong Kim.

GUILLERMO LOPEZ – a tenor from Sonora, Mexico. Among his many prizes and grants he placed 3rd in the competition of the National Association of Teachers of Singing at the Great Lakes region and received a grant from the Mexican government of the Sonora state. He was selected as a soloist for the Anton Coppola 100-year gala. He has performed for SPO in the role of Gastone in La Traviata and Parpignol in La Boheme with Opera Tampa. Future engagements are Radames as an understudy in Aida in 2020 and Goro in Madame Butterfly in 2021 with Opera Tampa.

Guest Accompanist –

SUNGKYEONG KIM – A native of South Korea, now residing in Tampa. She has a teaching studio in New Tampa. Ms. Kim holds a Master of Music from Dongduk Women’s University. Among her mentors and teachers are Noel McRobbie, Moon Jung Kim, and Svetozar Ivanov. She has studied at the University of South Florida. She has received scholarships to study and participate in music festivals in Canada, United States, and Italy.
